-Piece Of Broken Glass-
------
A shot woke Nahira from her sleep. She sat up with a jerk and looked around the room. She was at home, in her apartment. She had just dreamed of home. From her mother and sister, but everything was gone now. She got up and went into the kitchen. Startled, she looked around. What happened here ?! The whole living room was devastated, a young man was lying on the floor, everything was covered in blood. Nahira shook her head, closed her eyes briefly and then looked again. It wasn't a dream! She backed away, hit the wall behind and stumbled to the phone, at that moment something hit her on the back of the head. Then there was nothing left to remember ...
She heard the rush of water somewhere nearby. Someone picked her up, then she felt the free fall. Once again she didn't feel the pain when she hit the water ...
Raven, Tracy, and Nicky sat rigid in the police chief's office. Riku looked at her from a distance and sighed deeply. So Nahira was gone.
"When did you notice that?" asked he.
"Sometime last night ... She didn't answer the phone, ICQ wasn't on and her cell phone was off. We're very worried if she's never been gone overnight. Not even when she had a boyfriend, but im Wait a minute, I don't understand ... "Nicky whispered.
Raven had snuggled up against Tracy and couldn't get a tear out. The quiet Raven who always kept her feelings hidden from others.
Now Tracy spoke up:
"She said that she has been dreaming about her father a lot lately, it could be that she ... No, then she would have let me know ..."
Riku raised an eyebrow, then asked:
"And further?"
"I suspected that she drove home, but she would have told us beforehand what happened ..."
At that moment the guys from the forensics department (CSI! XDDD) came into the room. Riku turned to them:
"And?"
"Everything was devastated ... Besides, well ... We found a man in his mid-twenties dead.No sign of Miss McEwen. She didn't pack anything, nor was her bed made, she must have left the apartment quickly. But also her cell phone, her credit cards, everything was still there, her identity card, everything she would have needed. "
"That means she was ... kidnapped ?!" shouted Nicky, who of course had long ears again. (Okay, that's not typical for Nicky xD)
"We don't know that," Riku growled.
"But it must be somewhere ..." Tracy whispered.
"Sure, but we don't know where. You'd better go home and we'll look for her ..." Riku said with a sigh.
"I can't sit around like that when my best friend disappears," Nicky wailed.
"We'll have to," then rave, "the worst thing we can do is interfere ..."
"You're right ..." Nicky sighed.
"Come on, let's go, thanks Riku ..." Tracy said, nodding to him.
"Yo," he replied and looked after them.
Nahira opened her eyes. She sat up, trembling. What happened? She rubbed her forehead and looked around. She was on the bank of a river. The area was unknown to her. She got up and wrapped her arms around her, the sun drying her things quickly. For a long time she wandered through the forest, it was getting dark and cool. Finally she sat down under a tree in the bushes and stared into space. She tried to think clearly, but it didn't work. She was in a daze, as if in a trance. Exhausted, she curled up and fell asleep despite the fact that she was incredibly cold ...
Riku was still sitting in the office and looking at the pictures from the crime scene. He had to find something. The clock was ticking tirelessly, what if something happened to her now? He sighed and got up. Then he would have to go visit Zugai. He walked out of the building to his car and sped off. There was no way Nahira had killed anyone, so the man had somehow got into the apartment differently.
Zugai wasn't home, so Riku had to wait until the next day for better or worse. At the other end of town, Nahira was still leaning against the tree, her eyes closed and resting. She began to feel her bones again and to think clearly again. Still a little dazed, she got up and walked on. She heard steps behind her. Startled, she turned around. But there was no one. Nahira shook her head. Was she delusional now, too? Growling, she went on ... and those steps again! Nahira grabbed a branch and thrashed out. Somebody hit the ground and made a choked sound. Nahira threw her head up and in the next moment recognized Zugai.
"Shit! Sorry dude ..." she knelt next to him and looked at him worried.
"Ouch ..." he looked at her.
Nahira grinned apologetically, then said:
"What are you sneaking up on? Hm?"
"I didn't really want you to be scared, but I didn't know for sure if it was you ... It's so difficult to see from behind and it's already so dark ...""Oh ..." she held her head.
"What are you doing out here?" he asked and got up. "That's dangerous."
"For you too," said Nahira. "I mean ... Anyway ... I can't remember how I got here either ... I just remember that I was wet and crawled out of a river, I still have in mind that I fell into the water, I didn't feel the pain anymore, I must have been unconscious ... But how did I get into the river, I certainly didn't fall into it ... "
"You mean someone pushed you?" Zugai looked at her perplexed.
"No ... I don't know, my head hurts ..." Nahira staggered and was just able to stand on her feet.
"What's the matter with you ?!"
"I don't know ... I really have to go home, who knows how long I've been gone, I mean, Raven and the others are probably already totally worried ..."
"I haven't seen her in a while," he replied."Mhm ... Boa, I'm going on now, I just want to go to bed ..." she yawned and wanted to go on.
"I'll come with you, don't you fall over and nobody can help you ..."
Nahira nodded, but said nothing. They walked side by side for a while until they came to the street.
"I just hope you don't worry too much ..." Nahira sighed and looked around at him.
At that moment a car came racing around the corner. Nahira could see the revolver as it got closer. She threw herself in front of Zugai before the bullet hit him. The car disappeared around the corner when she hit the ground. Nahira narrowed her eyes and tried to get up again.
"Maaaaaaaaaan ... why always when everything sucks anyway ..." she gasped, held the wound and grinned.
Zugai stared at her. Nahira closed her eyes and slumped back to the floor.
"Wh ... what ..." he stammered, still staring. It wasn't until the sidewalk turned red that he realized what had happened ... Was it over now?...
Riku stood next to Zugai and the three girls with his arms crossed. Raven and Daisy were hugging each other, almost crying. Nicky was lying across two chairs and had just fallen asleep.
"What if she dies?" Zugai asked and looked up at Riku.
"Then you can't change it either ..." said the latter coolly, although it affected him, he preferred to say nothing.
The doctors came with the news that they had given up hope ...
Sighing, Zugai stared down at the grave, Nicky was standing next to him. She too had empty eyes.
"And now?" she asked and looked around at him.
He shrugged his shoulders.
Then he looked up and walked across the cemetery. Nicky preferred not to go after him.
I know how you must feel now ... I know what it's like to lose someone close to you, but you can't change it. It cannot be reversed. It is the way it is and it won't change any more. I'm very sorry ...
