Vegeta grinned mischievously when Raditz let out a low, growled "yes" to confirm. Vegeta remembered the day he "saved" Raditz.
As far as he knew Raditz was a real marauder and troublemaker. Wherever there was Rabatz, the Saiyajin with the long black mane got involved.
And his last "outrage" would almost have ended on the gallows had it not been for Vegeta. The Saiyan had come up with a rather daring prank to "wipe out" one of Freezer - or rather Freezer's subordinates.This action was to be, as he later said, his "greatest coup".
Raditz had sneaked into one of Freezer's bases and then caused a bit of chaos by playing "demolition master": Bardock's oldest son had blown up one of the south towers. And as expected of him, there was pure chaos; the entire crew ran around like a frightened flock of chickens.
In his opinion, he was able to escape unnoticed in the hustle and bustle.
And yet he was seen. Since he had incited the wrath of Freezer and the king with this prank, both of them arranged for the Saiyan to be executed.

Even the prince was not at ease at the thought of such an execution; because it was really cruel, even by Saiyan standards. As emotionally cold and unscrupulous as Vegeta was -
he didn't want to see someone die like that again because he had seen it so many times, even as a child.And that had shaped him, that's why he stood up for his people.
So the prince had stood up for Raditz and asked for a hefty sentence instead of execution. It was a long back and forth, but Vegeta got through with his idea ...
In the end, the prince always wondered why he had acted that way.

The Saiyan stepped out of the semi-darkness and disappeared briefly. A little later, dim light illuminated the room in which they were. This place wasn't exactly inviting, but good enough as a secret meeting place. It was a bare room, with stone walls that were gray.
