"Telephone! Teeeelefooon- Lord God, are you all deaf or what ?!"
Hilary screamed with all her might, struggling with an unruly garden chair on the porch. Suddenly a teasing voice rang out the window on the first floor, directly above her: "Hey Hilary, you are the manager, the telephone tips are usually responsible for things like that!"
Tyson had leaned far out of the window and let the sun shine comfortably on his face. A reaction was not long in coming.
Hilary raised her fist angrily, the other hand held the dangerous garden chair apart with the help of his legs: "You don't deserve a manager at all, idiot, besides, the call could be important; Mr. Dickenson- forgot?"
Deep blue eyes grew wide and one would think that the cheeky Balder would see a little light. In a matter of seconds Tyson was on the phone and Hilary let out a satisfied "Ha!" announce.
"Yes?"
"Hello Tyson, this is Mr. Dickenson. I had already announced that I would find a solution to your" problem ". After a long search, I found the perfect replacement blade for the Bladebreakers, so you will be visited in the course of the day."
"Fantastic, Mr. Dickenson! For the upcoming matches we absolutely need our 5th man, now that Ray is out. And hey - we're always happy about the addition of the team!"
Tyson was thrilled, which made Mr. Dickenson laugh good-naturedly.
"Well then, good luck together - see you soon."
"Wait, Mr. Dickenson - do we know this guy?"
-CLICK-
But Mr. Dickenson had already hung up - if not for nothing. Tyson took one last confused look at the now silent telephone receiver, slammed the innocent victim rudely on the table in his excitement and stormed into the large, spacious living room, where he met Ray, Mariah and Tala."Folks, I have great news at the start - OUR NEW TEAM MEMBER ARRIVES TODAY!"
"What really? Great!", Mariah said happily and made to get up but then sank back into the sofa cushions with a groan. Ray put a worried hand on her heavily pregnant belly and Mariah closed her eyes for a moment.
"So today my replacement is coming ... a kind of weird feeling.", Ray muttered.
Immediately Tyson was at his esteemed friend and punched him lightly in the side: "Hey buddy, whoever should come in here, he'll replace you 100 pro, not just represent you."
And he grinned his signature Tyson grin.
"He's right.", Tala now also spoke up.
"You can also take care of our facility, the ´Bladebreakers Association Group´, a little more intensively during this time."
Ray smiled confidently and then said, "Yep- you're right, man. Something totally great awaits me here at home anyway!"
He pressed Mariah a tender kiss into the pink mane of hair and then carelessly stroked her round belly. Tala leaned back in his comfortable chair and loosened the collar of his white and gray striped shirt. The red-haired Russian was lost in thought.
> It's funny how life can change. Almost 3 ½ years ago I was surrounded by darkness and resignation every day in the abbey, no warmth, no fun and certainly no love. And now? I live in a dreamlike house surrounded by a real kindergarten, belong to the worldwide Beyblade elite and can still pursue my dream job on the side. But the greatest gift is Eve, without whom my sun would never rise again. <
Tala had to laugh softly - his world couldn't be more perfect, even if his current situation meant he had to wrestle one or the other additional word.
"What's so funny, Tala?" Asked Ray and Tyson and Mariah looked at him curiously. But in his usual smug way, he only gave them an ironic smile.
Hilary rushed in.
"And? Who was it?", She managed and then leaned against the door frame, completely out of breath.
"Oh man, you come early.", Tyson remarked and then opened the news to her: "It was Mr. Dickenson's turn; the new one is on his way to us."
"What, today? Yes, what are you still sitting around here, come on, the food has to be on the table and a room has to be prepared!"
She waved her arms wildly so that a long scratch could be seen on her left forearm. While Ray, Mariah and Tala stood up laughing, Tyson slowly walked over to Hilary and gently pulled her arm towards him.
"You hurt yourself," he said softly in a pleasantly rough voice.
He gently let air escape between his lips and then turned his gaze to Hilary, who was now pink. Then he laughed out loud and clapped her on the shoulder like a friend: "You know where the bandages are."
With his arms crossed behind his head and a big grin on his face, he ran away.
"I ... I still have paperwork to do. Will you please eat and take care of the room?" Hilary asked, suddenly looking tired and exhausted.
"Sure, don't worry about that. We'll call you when the new guy arrives.", Mariah answered gently. Sir heard Hilary climb the stairs and then a room door slam. The three looked at each other, embarrassed, they all thought the same thing: Tyson is playing a game whose rules he determines himself. He hadn't even asked Hilary if she was even willing to play.
An hour later, a room was ready for occupancy and dinner was smelling on the mahogany-colored dining table. Ray and his fiancée were handing out the cutlery when Mariah remarked: "Where is Kai?"
"Here," came a hard, cold voice from behind them.Kai stepped into the dining room in his usual casual manner and, a little exhausted, sat down on the next best chair.
"Look, look, our incorrigible leader overslept the only day without training, but that's rare enough."
For this he earned a quay look of level 6, which is not entirely harmless.
"Actually, I don't really owe you an explanation ... the night was just short, understand!"
Ray wisely let it go, but threw Mariah a meaningful look- Kai was definitely hanging around too much outside.
Tala, who was just entering the dining room, smelled with relish the smell of fresh rice and crabs when his gaze fell on Kai, his hair was still damp from the shower and hung dripping in the young Russian's face.
He sat down across from him and sought his gaze.
"What?" Asked Kai dismissively. Tala knew that. Kai met everyone with a wave of dislike, spiced with icy indifference. The cold and heaviness of the abbey had never left his bones. But Tala loved his best friend as one could only love a soul mate. This was not a naive friendship, but a deep bond and limitless trust. As haughty and icy as Kai appeared, Tala appeared knowing and full of scorn. They were like two beings created from the eternal ice of Siberia - twins in mind and body.
He knew how to interpret every look of the closed half-Russian and understood it without words. But sometimes words were needed after all.
"You should spend the night in bed for a change - alone, mind you. What then? You don't need to look at me so poisonously, after all, there isn't much you can do outside at night."
Kai didn't bother to answer, even if he wasn't hanging out with someone every night. Unless Dranzer counted as a person.
"Oh yes, our new team member will be arriving today, just for you to know.""Hn." Kai averted his eyes and looked at the clock: 4:14 pm. He would have liked to have slept through until 8:00 p.m., he felt so overwhelmed.
Mariah and Ray were once again engrossed in their eternal discussion about naming when Tyson's voice came from the hallway: "Hey guys, I'll pick up the new high-speed rings for Ray and me from Kenny."
He was about to open the door when the doorbell rang.
"Oh my god - there it will be," cried Mariah and suddenly she came up from the sofa a lot faster than it had been before. followed by the two boys, she hurried to the door. Hilary was called loudly on the stairs, then each one of them turned his gaze eagerly towards the front door.
Kai leaned back against the door frame and unsteadily buttoned his black shirt, except for the first four buttons.
The tension made them all restless and almost electrifying, so that Tyson literally tore the door open and stumbled badly. What he then saw really made him doubt: In front of him was not a male, unknown blader, as expected, but a young woman of 20 years with hip-length, ebony-colored hair. Over her shoulder she carried a sports bag that had been converted into a travel bag, and next to her was an olive-green suitcase.
A smile spread across Tala's face and Ray clapped his hands in delight, but no less speechless. Tyson wiped his eyes in embarrassment.
Mariah stormed towards the young woman and hugged her so stormily that she let her travel bag slide to the ground. Mariah sobbed uncontrollably on the newcomer's shoulder and stammered: "Oh Leylan, it really is you. Oh Leylan!"
Leylan gently stroked her pink hair and held her best friend tightly in his arms.
But the most shocked was Kai. Eyes wide in terror and mouth open, he stared at Leylan, his crimson eyes fixed on her face.Tala noticed out of the corner of her eye how shaken his best friend was and took a few steps back to put a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Hilary stormed past them and toward Leylan. Mariah took a step aside, her eyes still wet and a blissful smile on her face. The embrace with which Hilary Leylan welcomed was firm and then pulled her into the house: "Sorry for your bad manners - come in first. The others will surely want to greet you too; not everything has to happen on the doormat."
The assembled team was still completely perplexed, they had expected everything, everything except that!
Tyson willingly carried Leylan's luggage down the hall and then followed into the dining room. Kai was still standing in the hallway. The otherwise supercooled half-Russian and top-class blade was completely out of the way. Tala looked at his friend desperately, he didn't know how to help him.
Leaning towards his ear, he mumbled: "Come on Kai, give yourself a jerk."
Then he walked past
