Fanfic: The Path
an open mouth and an awesome expression. Only when his sister gave him a strong push did he stammer: "My ... my name is ... To ... Toshio."
"And you?" Leylan asked, still smiling friendly, turning to the girl.
"I'm Chihiro ... and I'm a big fan of yours," she added hastily, her dark green eyes on Leylan expectantly. Leylan straightened up to her full height and smiled smugly: "So, so, a big fan.
"What ?! I mean ... no, no of course not. How about my Blade u ... and maybe my backpack.
The 13-year-old girl almost choked out of sheer excitement and Leylan conscientiously ignored it.
"Of course, just bring it on."
Chihiro turned the hem of her jacket to one side, took out Blade and Starter and passed it along with her brightly striped fabric backpack to Leylan.
"Pen?", She asked and looked at Chihiro questioningly.
"Ah yes of course - here.", She replied with an embarrassed smile and pushed a silver pen to Leylan. Leylan took a closer look at the girl's blade: it was light and flexible, purple and black and had small, gold-colored rings on the outer edges, which clinked softly with every movement. Grinning, Leylan threw Chihiro a look and said: "Mh, it sounds familiar to me - what do you say?"Chihiro gave an embarrassed laugh and replied, "I said, I'm a big fan of yours. I've followed you and Clover in every match and I'm totally fascinated by the way you fight."
It just gushed out of her and Leylan couldn't help laughing. Still grinning, she signed Balde and Starter and then grabbed the backpack when a small hand fell on hers.
"Please Dranzer first," Toshio whispered, barely audible. Surprised, Leylan took the cloth bag, turned it loosely in his hands and then asked: "You have a nice bag - is that your favorite bitbeast?"
Toshio looked up in shame, suddenly he wasn't that brave anymore, but answered with unmistakable enthusiasm: "Yes, and Kai is my favorite blade - he's a hero!"
Leylan gave the little one a wry look, then patted his hair and added: "Do you mind if I sign your Dranzer?"
Then Toshio shook his head violently and replied: "No, you are great too! And Clover is sooo beautiful."
With a smile on his face, Leylan quickly signed the stuffed animal and then the backpack. She gave both back to the siblings and turned to go when Chihiro held her back by the sleeve: "The newspapers write, you have returned to the Bladebreakers - right?"
Leylan kept moving and then replied in a firm voice: "I've never really been away. See you two and always train nicely."
The siblings waved eagerly after her and Leylan could still hear Chihiro say to her brother: "She patted your head, now you are not allowed to wash your hair anymore - understand?"
She left them behind with a grin, accompanied by her thoughts: "I had completely forgotten what it is like to be famous."
Then she heard the sound of the sea and at the same time a soft salty breeze was blowing in her face, she looked up and there it was: the old training ground of the Bladebreakers. It seemed to her as if it had been yesterday that she saw all the barbecues standing here and approached hungry. As if it had been yesterday that Kai suddenly emerged from the shadows. As if it had been yesterday that the ensuing argument made her run away like a fleeing animal, without a goal and without a name.
Nobody was in sight, Leylan was completely alone, the sea on her left and the forest on her right. She quickly crossed the square and then sat down on the low dune with a view of the rolling waves on which light foam was curling.
With her legs drawn tightly to her body and with her eyes closed, she listened to the symphony of the sea; the swelling sound of the approaching waves turned into a powerful roar as soon as the water hit the rock and then subsided to withdraw with a pleasant purr.
Eternal forwards and backwards - like the course of life.
She remained in this position for hours, only moving when the sun, like a ball of fire, dipped into the sea and the sky above her became increasingly dark.
With hunched shoulders and hands buried in his trouser pockets, Leylan finally made his way home, his long black hair blowing in the cool evening breeze and giving the impression of a waving farewell to the now calm sea.
