"You walked with me
Footprints in the sand
And helped me understand
Where I'm goingYou walked with me
When I was all alone
With so much unknown
Along the way
Then I heard you say "
With his eyes closed, his senses sharpened to the limit, he sucked deep inside himself every second that the melody under his fingers merged with Leylan's melodious voice, refreshing the fading memory.
He let himself fall.
[i]"I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sorrow
and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand "
The words just flowed out of her, leaving a sweet scent on her lips, filled to the brim with the pure voice that seemed to rise from the deepest depths of Leylan. She devotedly gave life to these words, once written down, letting them slide into the melodic tumult of the room-filling sounds and then absorbing them with every fiber of her body, preserving them like a treasure.
[i]"I see my life
Flash across the sky
So many times have I.
Been so afraid
And just when I
I thought I'd lost my way
you gave me strength to carry on
That's when I heard you say "
Approaching the end, Kai elicited powerful, passionate tones from the piano, Leylan raised her voice and gave it a voluminous depth.
[i]"I promise you
I'm always there
When your heart is filled with sadness
and despair
I'll carry you
When you need a friend
You'll find my footprints in the sand "
Tenderly she let her voice fade away, sending the last note on its journey, her tongue stroking her lips with relish, as if to capture the sweet aftertaste of the gentle words. The silence of the song slowly brought him back to reality, as if waking from sleep he shook his head slightly, his fingers were still lightly on the ebony-colored keys of the grand piano, which he had brought to life in such a unique way.
One look, a brief moment and you felt yourself transported back years into the time when every morning began with a thought of him and the night fell with a thought of her.Where there was no ´possibly´ but only ´ definitely´ and such scenes were the order of the day, like a secret ritual with unexpected powers.
Leylan had known nothing about this room, with this grand piano, and Kai obviously even more so. It was easy to see that this represented his small, personal realm, far away from the hustle and bustle. And all of a sudden the young woman felt like a penetrating intruder who came crashing into a stranger's ´living room´. Kai watched her and didn't even bother to hide it, his position was undoubtedly the safe one of the local, whereas Leylan looked like she regretted even setting foot in the room.
Within seconds he had made a decision, got up and headed for the door. Next to Leylan, however, he paused and said, looking straight ahead: "She has become more beautiful, even more beautiful than then. The piano is at your disposal."
He looked at Leylan for just a blink of an eye, long enough to see the boundless astonishment on her grave features, straightened his shoulders and walked all the way to the door.
With her eyes on the ground, she waited for the familiar click of the lock. Only then did she feel safe, safe enough to let her desires run free. She didn't know why and why he allowed her, when he apparently again harbored anger towards her, she really didn't care at the moment. She reverently crossed the small room in the direction of the grand piano, ran her fingers over the deep black wood, the gleaming keys, slid smoothly onto the wooden bench and took a deep breath.
[i]> It's been a long time since I last sat in front of such a beautiful instrument, it's been a long time since I was able to embark on a journey into unknown spheres, carried by the wings of the melody, intoxicated by the beauty of the Words ... <, she thought and the knowledge that she could change this, caressed her soul and let her heart grow wide.Still quite intoxicated by the, albeit timid, duet with Kai, which reminded her so painfully of days gone by, she spread her fingers and carefully let them come into close contact with the piano. She was not a master, could not elicit such perfect notes from the instrument as Kai was able to, but she was particularly good at a special song.
It was the soundtrack to her lonely days, spent in the streets of the cities of this world, full of sadness, full of hope, filled with a strong instinct for self-preservation. Timidly she let out the first notes, felt how her insides rejoiced at the sound of familiar things and smiled, preparing her voice for a further union. The initial timidity faded, Leylan's fingers elicited the right, powerful notes from the piano and she played in a way she hadn't been allowed to for a long time. Sounds formed into words, she let her voice run free.

"There's a harvest each Saturday night
At the bars filled with perfume and hitching a ride
A place you can stand for one night and get gone
It's clear this conversation ain't 'doing a thing
Cause these boys only listen to me when i sing
And i don't feel like singing tonight
All the same songs
Here in these deep city lights
Girl could get lost tonight
I'm finding every reason to be gone
Nothing here to hold on to
Could i hold you?
The situation's always the same
You got your wolves in their clothes whispering Hollywood's name
Stealing gold from the silver they see
But it's not me "
Every bit of her being was filled with this song, saturated with the sheer bliss Leylan felt, but also the heavy burden of melancholy of memories from days gone by. With her eyes closed and her chest free, she sang from the bottom of her soul, regardless of whether someone could hear her or not."Here in these deep city lights
Girl could get lost tonight
I'm finding every reason to be gone
There's nothing here to hold on to
Could i hold you?
Calling out somebody save me i feel like i'm fading away
Am i gone?
Calling out somebody save me i feel like i'm fading
In these deep city lights Girl could get lost tonight
I'm finding every reason to be gone
There's nothing here to hold on to
Could i hold on to you? "
Kai leaned against the cool wall, his ear gently tilted towards the open window, his eyes closed, his breath shaky. Leylan's voice still rang in his ears, merging again with the sounds she had evoked.
Previously he had circled the house unnoticed and was now standing on the outer wall of the semicircular room. The walls that bordered the rest of the house were made of insulating fire wall material, almost no sound escaped them. But out of the garden every note was clearly audible, through the open window the melody penetrated outside unhindered and now resounded indignantly in Kai's soul - which Leylan remained hidden.
She sat blissfully in front of the black grand piano, her head in her arms and watched the fascinating play of light on the dark floorboards - it was slowly becoming afternoon.
