Fanfic: The Path
the 'bad one'. After all, I betrayed you ... but I did don't trust yourself completely - prove to me that you are worth it! "
With a sly grin, the tall young woman turned around and said, almost in a whisper: "You will understand what 'mistake' means. At the latest when I have kicked Eve in a high arc into nowhere. Viva la vida, Hilary - today's time brings Far too many rules and restrictions, but if you are strong, no rule, no matter how complex, can put you in your place. "
A throaty laugh escaped her and she left Hilary lost in highly uncomfortable thoughts.
~
Arms crossed behind his head, legs slightly bent and eyes closed - Kai Hiwatari had been lying in the tall grass for hours and thinking.
Strictly speaking, he didn't think much, the complexity of his thoughts was rather limited. But what was there that was worth mentioning in Kai's mind?
For the fact that the young man had an impressive intellect and was gifted with considerable acumen, his thinking activity was very modest most of the time, due to the often lack of interest in his environment. However, since Leylan Lao had dared to burst into his usual routine, he was forced to invest more than just a thought.
Tala's words had made him thoughtful against his will and given new impetus to the small, hitherto quiet, inner voice of doubt. This now fought a bitter battle with the part who cared about a damp rubbish around Leylan.
Kai felt almost like an outsider who was watching a tangible argument without influencing it or forming an opinion for himself.
The silent man shook his head in disbelief - such cunning fantasies were probably the last thing he should trust. It was clear to him that he would have to make a decision here and now that would have a significant impact on the further course of things ... He disliked this compelling circumstance, very much indeed.
And feeling the invisible shackles, he fought vehemently against it - as so often.
Because as soon as the ice-cold young man felt compulsions and necessities around him, he reacted almost instinctively without having to think about it much.
He resisted, figuratively put his feet into the ground and couldn't move an inch.
In view of this renewed recognition of his extremely immature behavior, Kai had to laugh, he laughed uncontrollably - after all, there was complete loneliness around him, not a soul was to be seen. Optimal conditions for Kai.
Slowly opening his eyes, he looked up to the bright blue sky, fluffy cloud boats pulled leisurely through the sea of eternity, forming strange shapes.
He frowned and slowly it dawned on him, but too late.
The memory devoured him mercilessly.

[i]"There! Do you see it ?! Look closely, it is without question a dragon!"
“A dragon?” Harsh laugh. "You have ideas ..."
They lay in the grass and stared up at the bright blue sky. He could feel her hand very close to his, the warmth that radiated from her, and yet he didn't dare to take it. He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, had to smile cautiously at the enthusiasm with which she tried to fathom the picture story of the clouds. She was just about to draw his attention to an adventurously intertwined cloud which, in her opinion, looked like a flying dragon, with outstretched wings and flapping tail.
In childish euphoria she raised her hand and pointed firmly in the direction of this cloud, playfully pulled his sleeve so that he would finally understand. He wasn't stupid and certainly not unimaginative - he had long since recognized dragons and, in his opinion, looked more like a dragon. However, he continued to pretend not to understand, just to encourage her to come up with a new explanation - she promptly complied.
Drew enthusiastically along the lines of the sunlit cloud, directed his gaze to the curved head of the portrait and told the story.
She told of all the suffering that the dragon had already had to experience and only for this reason opened its mouth so wide, ready to counter any devastating fire-breathing. In fact, the blood-red rays of the sun that hit the dragon's head acted like fire and made it appear powerful. He had forgotten that she told him about a ´cloud portrait´, had forgotten that this was all just fantasy, her voice was very smoky and flattered his hearing - with a sigh he listened thoughtfully to her adventurous words.
But clouds are just clouds, they go with the wind and bow to its will. So did the great dragon, of which he had learned so much in such a short time.
Beside him the grass rustled and she sat up carefully. Her long black hair was blowing lightly in the evening breeze, a sultry breeze settled over the city, and she let out a sad sigh.
“What is it?” He too had sat up and put his arms on his knees.
He turned to her, mentally traced the contours of the face, which fascinated him so much because it was not perfect, and stayed on her eyes, eyes that always looked like a big, dark lake, the bottom of which no one had ever been able to fathom .But that was exactly his goal.
He wanted to go down, down into the depths of these black waters, wanted to immerse himself in everything that was hidden at the bottom. He would not be afraid, would look with courage for anything that could help him to understand her better, to be close to her.
"Mh? Nothing, I was just thinking that we are going to be similar to Boondax."
"You gave it a name?" He asked, amused, feasting on her bright smile.
She giggled, embarrassed, and replied: "Yes, I really grew fond of him."
"What do you think we would be like him?"
He knew what she meant, but wanted to hear it from her mouth.
Looking into the distance, where far away from you white smoke rose curling up towards the sky, where there was hustle and bustle and noise, she said: "We arise with one gust of wind and pass with the next ... fate, it determines how strong 'our' wind is how much we are torn apart until we are finally gone - like Boondax. "
He had known what she meant, but could never put it in such touching words. His gaze rested on her for a few seconds, until he raised him again to heaven and said quietly: "I think there are only a few people on this earth who are still as young and already as melancholy as we are. What do you think?"
With a gentle smile, she put her hand on his and spoke to him directly: "Not melancholy but consciously. We don't fool ourselves why we don't waste a second. Viva la vida!"
A little puzzled, he looked at her hand that wrapped itself gently around his, which he hadn't dared to do before, and his lips formed a restrained smile.
His voice was nothing more than a whisper as he said, "... Viva la vida."
They turned their gaze to the dim sky, where in a few minutes a true sea of stars would rise, rising out of the eternal blue waters, as the treasure of the everlasting ocean, which arched majestically above them."Let's look for star images! We may find an undiscovered one."
She let herself fall back enthusiastically into the grass, her face filled with a broad smile, the dark lake seemed to be illuminated by thousands of will-o'-the-wisps. He laughed, shaking his head, and did the same, sank contentedly into the grass.
"Yes ... we are looking for constellations ..."
