Not the way I want!

I want to be free!
But I have to stay.
I want to fly!
But my wings are destroyed.
I want to show my feelings!
But they are locked.
I want to sing, dance and be happy!
But I was forbidden.
I want to be different!
And yet I have to stay the same.

I want to be alone!
But I have to be with others.
I want to sink into the ground!
But the earth is resisting me.
I want to be freezing!
But I have to smile.
I want to be sad and quiet!
But I have to talk and be a facade.
I want to be the same!
And yet I have to be individual.

Why can't I be what I want to be?
I don't want to be like everyone else wants to be!
