Chase part 2

When I woke up the sun was just rising. I loved sunrises, today it came back to me for the first time in a year. I looked on the other side. Oskar stared at the street, but his lips twitched when he noticed my gaze. “Tomorrow.” I said and sat up in the car seat. "Tomorrow. We just left Canada," he said with a laugh. I frowned, he must have driven like a madman to make this distance. "Let me go again." I almost pouted. He made a face. “Firstly, you have less sleep than I got and secondly you promised me.” I put on my doggy eyes. “You're a real little beast.” He growled, but pulled over to the right at the same time. We got out, but before I could take even two steps I noticed something.

"Oh you holy shit!" I hissed and jogged around the car. "What's happening?" asked Oskar, confused. I pointed in one direction. You could see a bunch of police cars and a helicopter. “We're still being followed.” I called and sat down while Oskar jogged around the car and sat down too. “It was still so nice and quiet last night,” he growled. I gave full throttle and we raced across the streets. "They waited until we stop. They probably wanted to take our lead off." He growled and looked back. The police cars chased us, but the lead increased, but the helicopter was a bigger chunk. He could easily keep up with us, and there were no tunnels anywhere. "Shit, what do we do now?" I asked him panicked. He thought for a moment. "The best thing to do is to go down the next time you leave and then ..." he took out a map. "Let's go north, there is a huge forest, there is also our hiding place." He said. I nodded and drove on in manic calm. As he had said I drove out at the next exit and then headed north. The police and the helicopter followed us. I hoped the tank was halfway full, but when I looked at the display, all my hope was gone, we were already driving on the reserve tank. “We run out of gas,” I mumbled more to myself than to him. He nodded. "We have to get to headquarters!" he growled and sank back into his thoughts. I drove on and soon we had reached the forest. When we were inside, it suddenly became quiet. The helicopter now had to fly higher and since there was only one country road, the trees at the top almost grew together.

We didn't get very far. The car stopped with a loud crack. "Shit!" I hissed and got out. Oskar followed me with a card in hand. We jogged straight into the forest. "Where to go?" I asked him. He's pointing in one direction. “We now have a good two kilometers to go,” he said coldly. "Thanks so much I didn't want to know." I growled. We jogged like that for a while. "What do you think if they are already following us?" I asked carefully and already slightly out of breath. "Mmmh, of course. But we always make easy hooks, so to speak. The work with their dogs not as fast as we do." He said and reached into his pocket. He took out a few bits of meat. "How so, where from?" I asked him, slightly confused. He laughed and tossed the pieces of meat in all directions. "That will confuse you. Don't ask, what is actually basic training, but you didn't have that." He said and turned off. I followed him. I wouldn't be able to go much longer. "Do you think they'll take us in?" I asked him almost anxiously, I urgently had to get my old side under control again. "Maybe, but they'll give us the means to get out of here." He said, now back in his old, cold tone. Almost suddenly my tone went cold again when I answered. “Well, if you think so.” He looked at me briefly, then increased his pace and ran around a tree before he made a long jump and then ran on.I followed him. We must have been at least a kilometer behind us when the forest suddenly grew darker. What an irony that you will find a Maffia headquarters here. I was slowing down and my breath had turned into a gasp by now. “You don't have good stamina,” he said to irritate me, but I was one step ahead of him. “Sitting in the car wasn't good for me, I'm totally rusty.” I growled, breathing heavily. He almost grinned, I could tell by the glow in his eyes. “Let's go to the final sprint.” Suddenly I saw a couple of lights sticking out of the dark. “You will have increased security,” he said, picking up his pants while I trapped my hair to one side so our “IDs” could be seen.

We came closer and suddenly someone shot forward out of the dark. He had already pressed his pistol to my head when Oskar calmly showed his sign. "Hey let me show mine too." I growled at the guy ice cold. The temperature dropped a few degrees almost suddenly. I could see how the guy was freezing cold. He looked me in the eye for a few seconds, then read us through. We ran around the building or around the fence to get to the gate. We showed our signs again and then entered. We ran towards the main building. Once there we were stopped. "Names!" growled a rather tall and broad guy. "Black-Shadow and Blue-Gun." Oskar replied in the same tone. The guy disappeared while we waited. He reappeared a few minutes later. “Come with me,” he growled. I abstained from comment. Well who would have contradicted the guy? We followed him through a bunch of hallways and rooms until he finally stopped. “wait.” he growled and disappeared. Oskar looked at me for a few seconds, then took a deep breath and knocked.A “come in.” Rang out and we entered. “Ah how I see you finally arrived.” We nodded in sync. "Unfortunately there is a problem. We are being followed. Could you help us?" he asked resignedly. "Of course. Take a rest first while we provide you with a helicopter." He said and smiled nicely, too nicely. A man came up to us and signals us to follow him. He took us to a small room and handed us a couple of guns. Then it disappeared, what we didn't notice was that it locked.

So we were stuck in this room. “I don't trust all of this.” I finally said coldly. He shrugged his shoulders. “There is nothing else we can do, we would be killed for all the murders.” He also said coldly. Then it became quiet, there was an uncanny calm in this room. Then we heard the key being turned and the door opening.
