The necromancy

It was Saturday evening. I had made all the preparations. I had already set up candles in the party room and darkened the room to create a special atmosphere. Now only my friends had to come and I didn't have to wait long until the doorbell rang. I opened it for them, but led them straight down to the basement, where I lit all the candles that were set up, there were a total of 5 so that only the essentials were illuminated.

Everyone sat by their name:

ALICE: "Well before we start we have to swear that nobody will find out about this. Everyone has to put their fingers through the flame, that would seal our pack."

Each of us had slipped our fingers through the flame and swore that our little secret would remain hidden within us forever. We shook hands and closed our eyes, and I had a strange blue point in front of my mind's eye.

SUSI: "Then the only question left is who we should call."

CARINA: "How about my grandma? She's been dead a long time."

ALICE: Good, unless someone has a better suggestion.

We shook our heads in the negative.

JESSICA: "Then let's start. Carina. Since it's your grandma, you should call her too."

CARINA: "Ok. Good. (Hawk) I'll call you, my late Grandma Seifert. When you're there, give us a sign."

Nothing happened for a while, until something fell down. We were all terrified.

SUSI: "Mom."

CARINA: "What was that?"

JESSICA: "A candle fell down."

ALICE: "Do you mean the red heart-shaped one?"

I nodded. Thank God I hadn't lit it.

JESSICA: "We should carry on."

CARINA: "Yes. Grandma are you there?"

Again just quiet ... something fell down again, this time a pen.

SUSI: "Mamma!" She exclaimed.

ALICE: "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!" She yelled.

Everyone stared at her.

CARINA: "What's the matter, did you see a ghost?" She asked nervously.

ALICE: "Y-something touched me," she said anxiously.

JESSICA: "Quiet blood. I just crossed my legs."

ALICE: "You stupid cow!", She yelled and was still relieved.

CARINA: "Grandma? Are you there?" She repeated.

This time the glass on which we had both index fingers on it moved.

YA

CARINA: "Yes is not written with a J."

ALICE: "Actually, yes."

CARINA: "What should we ask?"

ALICE: Don't know. Anything useful?

CARINA: "All right. Uh. Got it. When are we going to die?"

Bad choice on a question. Why did this question have to be asked? Couldn't she have asked whether we would one day be rich? It was moving again.

MEMENTOMORI

CARINA: "Did anyone remember the letters?"

JESSICA: "Yes I do. But that doesn't make a sentence, just a salad of letters."

CARINA: "Grandma, what does that mean?"The glass remained silent, but something fell down again, this time a dart with a real metal tip.

SUSI: "Mom! I can't stop, please."

ALICE: "We can't just stop like that."

SUSI: "But that was an arrow with a point! It's more dangerous than I thought."

CARINA: "I'm also in favor of us stopping."

JESSICA: "When we have started, we have to finish it," she said seriously.

SUSI: "No, I can't any more."

CARINA: "I don't want to anymore either, we shouldn't have done that, it's totally scary."

ALICE: "If you think so," she said disappointed.

We blew out the candles, Alice took the "work of art" as they left. They all said goodbye with a queasy feeling. Somehow I sensed that it wasn't over yet ... it was just beginning.
I tried to figure out what these letters should add up to, but it was unsuccessful. It is and remains a letter salad without dressing, totally dry. The word sounded Latin. I had to find out what it meant because I felt that something had changed through that one evening.
