Royal Dignity
Baby Vegeta
The hours after the birth of the prince were just as hectic as the other days in the royal family.
Freezer had left again a few hours after the ceremony, as he was anything but interested in the rest of the celebrations. In any case, the king poured a lot of alcohol to celebrate the day and for the first time even the palace staff had every reason to be happy. They didn't get any free, but they were allowed to help themselves at the buffet. Of course, only when the important part of the invited guests were full, which took a lot of time.
The queen had lay down because she was not doing very well, and of course little Vegeta was being put on display. All the hours he lay in a cradle next to his father. Most of the time he slept, only now and then he let something be heard.
The doctors had of course already been able to determine the fighting strength and when the king was informed of the glorious result, he had already decided for himself that his son had to be the legendary Super Saiyan. He already had a fighting strength far beyond that of most of the warriors within the palace. Of course, he had no intention of ever mentioning that in front of Freezer. The king knew that Changelin knew about the legend and probably feared it.
The months passed and the usual climate in the palace had quickly settled in again. The king was a very strict and tradition-conscious Saiyan and he did not want his son to grow up in any other way than the good old Saiyan manner.
Of course, Prince Vegeta was given a nanny to look after him. As queen, the mother was far from having as much to do as her husband, but she still had to fulfill her duties and had so little time for her boy. The king himself felt the same way. He had a busy schedule every day and at most he saw his son eating together.
So it was only clear that the prince was going to have a nanny. This was nappa. An elite warrior who worked closely with the palace. His father had already served as a guardian for the king but was killed on a mission. Nappa had agreed to take care of the little prince, who at seven months was a very bright little guy.
As soon as the young prince got something in his hands it was explored, especially how well it could fly. He was only too happy to go to Nappa with his toys and usually hit him right on the head. Since the little one could sit without help, he had the opportunity to applaud himself when he met Nappa. It always looked cute when little Vegeta applauded himself and Nappa seemed to be laughing at him.
However, not only laughing was one of Prince Vegeta's sounds. At night he screamed like a stick because he had started teething a month ago and the front teeth were visible. At the beginning Nappa tried to calm him down with a chewing ring. The little prince didn't want this plastic part near him and instead bit hard into Nappa's hand. Each time he had deep marks in his hands.
Vegeta was only too happy to put his nanny to the test. After all, Nappa had an absolute ban on playing and possibly hurting the prince. So he had to put up with everything. Whenever Nappa had Vegeta in his arms one or the other time, the prince liked to clap his hand in his face. A simple "No." from Nappa's side didn't stop him from continuing. It just happened that babies could only remember certain things for a few seconds, but with Vegeta you could never really be sure of that.
Of course, the royal family received countless gifts seven months after the prince's birth. Often there were toys for the baby with which Vegeta was only too happy to deal with. He began to sort the different wooden building blocks according to size and when Nappa hid them, the little one eagerly began to look for them. It was a very good employment method and Nappa had a few minutes' rest from the little tormentor. He really loved him very much, but the prince knew how to take your last nerve.
A few weeks ago, the little prince had also chosen a favorite stuffed animal that he had to take with him everywhere. No matter if it was bath time, bedtime, lunch, breakfast or outside. It was a stuffed dog that was roughly the same size as the prince himself. Nappa was really happy that this toy could be washed, because when he went to the palace gardens with the little prince and put him on the grass with his stuffed animal After a few minutes the toy looked as if it had just come out of the wilderness.
There were also wonderful moments with his mother in the prince's very young life. Especially in the evening when the prince had to go to bed. The Queen put him in his cot every evening and sang to him. Every time little Vegeta fell asleep very well and only rarely woke up during the night. During the night he only made noises when his teeth hurt or when he was hungry.
When the queen sang something to her young offspring in the evening, Nappa was usually there. He liked her singing very much because the queen had a really lovely voice. Very different from most of the Saiyan women on Vegeta-sei.
After the queen put her boy in bed, she always sat on a chair next to it and began to sing softly:
Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep,
the forest birds are now at rest.
Garden and meadow fall silent,
not a single bee hums either.
Luna with a silver glow,
peek in the window.
Sleep by the silver glowSleep, my little prince, fall asleep.
Fall asleep, fall asleep
Everything is now in the castle
lulled deep into slumber,
Kitchen and cellar are empty,
no mouse moves any more.
Only in the maid's room
sounds a melting ah.
What kind of oh might that be?
Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep.
Fall asleep, fall asleep
Who is happier than you
Nothing but pleasure and tranquility;
Sugar and toys full
and still bodies in the barrel:
Everything used and ready
that only my little prince doesn't scream.
What will it be in the future?
Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep.
Fall asleep, fall asleep
This song calmed the little prince down every time and as soon as he fell asleep he got a kiss from his mother on the forehead. She covered him up, adjusted his stuffed dog and quietly left the room with Nappa.
The king only saw this procedure a few times, as he usually had a lot of work late into the night.
Only later, when the prince was a little older, did the king find time to look after his son more intensively and to teach him some things.
At the age of seven months, of course, the prince did not yet understand what tasks his parents had and what tasks he would have to face one day. He also did not know what Freezer had to do with his people and whenever the Changelin was present in the Saiyajin palace, the prince was kept away from him. That should only change when little Vegeta could defend himself something. After all, the king had justified fear for his son and the heir to the throne.
Freezer saw the prince a few times but wasn't really interested in the little worm. Even if he found it very amusing that the little prince would always smile when the tyrant was against. Secretly, Freezer thought that was a bit cute.
Why the prince did that was not known. Perhaps he already had an inkling that one day he would bring him down.
But that still had its time.
