Unexpectedly

The next morning came and went; so fast that Danielle and Ariana wondered where the time had gone. However, this only seemed to fly away; not even the two of them could stop her.
An unsatisfied sigh came from the taller one as they got off the bus. Ria just giggled.
Dany looked down at the blonde. "Are you saying you are having fun here?"
Ria shrugged her shoulders indifferently: "Even better than in the home!"
Then she spotted Yugi and called his name loudly all over the courtyard. Dany raised an eyebrow as her gaze followed Ria's.
Yugi, blushing slightly, came up to her and mumbled a soft "Hello" to the nurses. But then he turned away again and left; however, this happened very suddenly.
"What was that now?" Asked Ria and looked disappointed at the older man.
But the reason was not long in coming: "Naaa ..." came a mocking person behind them, "Still there?"
Dany and Ria turned around in sync and made the same expression when they saw Yami.
"Ohh ...", Dany pretended to think before answering: "Since I'm standing here, it will certainly be like that! Really well combined Sherlock Holmes!"
Yami looked briefly surprised; apparently he hadn't expected such an answer.
But Ria grinned and suppressed a laugh at the sight of Yami. She couldn't take it much longer. Dany, who noticed Ria's convulsive attempts, pulled the smaller one with her towards the school.
Only in front of her classroom did Dany stop and turn to Ria, who was now giggling to herself.
"See you in the big break!", Dany whispered to the blonde, who could only nod. Then she stepped into the room and ignored the whispers of the others. As soon as she sat down, a boy from her class came up to her and said: "Hey you are sitting in my seat!"
Dany looked up and smiled at him while she responded with hidden irony in her voice: "Shall I lie down?"
Her counterpart seemed just as amazed as Yami and couldn't utter a single word at first. Only after he had thought about what she said did he quietly mumble "It's okay" and disappear again.
Dany just shook her head with a soft laugh and immersed herself in a book she had put in her pocket that morning.
It wasn't long before Yami, Tea, Seto, Mai and Joey entered. Except for Yami, who glanced at Dany, the other four ignored the girl.
Dany didn't care, the day had started pretty well, so why should she be angry about something like that? Only when the teacher entered did she slip her book into her pocket and turn her attention to the narrator.

In the courtyard, Ria stood excitedly, hoping excitedly around Dany the whole time, looking for someone."Tell me, what's the matter with you?" Asked Dany, who was sitting on the bench under the old oak tree, amused.
"I'm waiting for someone!" It came back briefly.
"And to whom?"
Ria froze in the midst of her movement and blushed. "On Yugi!", She mumbled softly and looked down at the floor.
"Is there anything I should know?" Dany asked and, driven by curiosity, she sat down a little straighter again. But then her gaze fell on a horde of girls who were getting closer and closer.
"Oh no," Dany groaned, slapping her forehead with her hand. "Here we go again!"
Tea, who ran away from the front, stood in front of her and said: "The shoes really don't go with your shirt!"
Dany smiled coldly and asked: "Why, my shirts don't have feet ?!"
Ria turned and grinned at Dany.
But Tea replied spitefully: "You think you are particularly smart?"
Dany got up and looked at Tea with a grin. "No, I have known for a long time!"
Ria curled up laughing behind the astonished group of girls. And no one had noticed that Yami and Yugi were not far away.
Yugi looked at Dany, impressed, while his brother looked unidentifiable.
But Tea looked down at her and spit out: "Look, she got covered in spills while eating!" The girls began to giggle, but Dany countered happily: "Yes, of course, I wanted to save a little for later!"
Ria almost ran out of breath with laughter. She sat in the grass and giggled endlessly, while the girls just stood there puzzled.
Dany grabbed her bag and said in a friendly manner: "I would like to have a mental duel with you, but I can see that you are unarmed!"
Then she walked away without saying another word. Ria, who was sitting on the floor with tears in her eyes, shouted to Dany "Wait!" afterwards, before she jumped up and ran after her.

Dany didn't stop because she recognized the voice that way. She just walked faster down the school hall. But then someone held her and pulled her around.
"I didn't expect you to come after me now!", Dany said coolly and looked at the boy, who was only slightly taller than she was.
"And I didn't expect that you would be able to give such answers!" Yami replied.
"Well, then you must have misjudged me, huh?"
"Looks like it!" He grinned slightly, but Dany was unimpressed.
"What do you want?" She asked coldly, pulling out a book that they had received and had to read for class.
"I just want to talk ...", Yami managed shortly.
"Oh ..?", Dany mumbled with mockery in her voice, "All of a sudden? I was supposed to leave a few days ago, right?"
Yami opened his mouth, it seemed as if he wanted to say something, but without having uttered a word, he closed it again."I have to then!", Danielle said before she turned around and went to Ria, who was standing in front of a door and waiting.
"Incredibly nice!" Ria whispered and began to giggle. Dany gave her a smile and winked slightly as she opened the book and began to read.
When Ria glanced past Dany, she saw that Yami was still standing there looking at them.
"Dany!", Ria hissed softly, "Yami is still standing there and looks like he wants to tell you something!"
"Huh?" Dany said without stopping to read. "What is?"
Ria snorted slightly, snatched the book away from Dany, and the black-haired woman began to protest loudly.
"Ria! Give this to me, I must have read it halfway by next week!" Dany shouted and wanted to get the book back, but Ria was a lot quicker than Dany.
"You can still do that!", The younger one called back, but then continued more quietly, "But you know that you have to reconcile with him at some point, yes?"
Dany grumbled something about "You can wait a long time!". Ria giggled and tossed the book to Dany.
"Remember!", She repeated as she walked backwards, "Be nice and make up with him again!"
Dany looked as if the day she would be reconciled with him could wait until the never-day of Santa. The look on her face made Ria laugh again.
When Ria was gone, Dany turned back to her book, ignoring Yami.
"Hey! Wait a minute!", Yami suddenly called after her as she walked towards the stairs, completely absorbed in her book.
Dany didn't even notice that Yami kept calling her name and she had almost reached the steps. Only when she took a step forward and had no more ground under her feet did she look up.
She just acknowledged this with a surprised "Oh shit!" and dropped the book. But once again Yami held her before she fell down the stairs. Some of the bystanders looked at her strangely but said nothing.
"Um ... Thanks?", Dany said and tried to free himself from his grip, but he wouldn't let that happen.
He cleared his throat softly and muttered a soft "I'm sorry!" into the ear. Amazed by this statement, she turned to him as best she could.
"What?", Confused she looked into his blood-red eyes.
"I know that I ..." he broke off and looked to the side, embarrassed.
"That you were an asshole, to put it bluntly!" Dany muttered and he smiled pained.

Dany wanted to turn away, but then Yami did something that she would never have expected from him: he kissed her. And so passionately that you could have thought the two were together. Dany wanted to say something about it, but an amused voice interrupted the two: "Well? What are you doing here alone?"
Dany and Yami winced and Danielle shouted, "Ria!"
Ria giggled softly, which only drew angry looks from the other two. But the blonde put on a meaningful smile and said: "Then have fun you both!" Then she left again. Dany and Yami had both blushed at the same time, which Ria had noticed. She winked at the two again before disappearing around the corner.
But suddenly the doorbell rang and the two were startled from the thoughts that had haunted them.
"Damn it!", Yami cursed softly and started off with quick steps. Dany followed him; she was hot on his heels.
When he got to the classroom, Yami knocked and went in with
