Nightmare

The night lay over the beautiful land and dragged the cold with it.
Ria had calmed down that evening, but she kept waking up and screaming for her parents. It was getting too much for Dany. At some point she just sank to her knees next to Ria's bed and let out all her despair.
When Ria saw this, she slowly calmed down. "Dany! Don't cry!", The blonde whispered suddenly guilty and tapped her carefully.
Dany looked up and gave her a pained smile. "We can do it, Ria!"
Ria looked at her sister with big eyes. "Do you think the?"
"Definitely!"

The next day brought them final certainty. The hope that had reigned in the two that their parents might be spared was destroyed when Anubis came to them the next morning and confessed to them in a low voice that this was not the case.
Ria sniffed again; she tried to stop her tears. But it was as if she wanted to prevent sunrise.
However, in the course of the day Osiris appeared to them and declared that the Pharaoh would receive his punishment; the two just have to follow him. They obeyed and ran after him; the environment suddenly changed. Instead of entering the passage from the temple, they stood in a much lighter one. The sisters looked around in amazement.
"Come on!" Said Osiris and beckoned her to him. After the two stood next to him, he stopped moving.
"Um ... Uncle?" Ria asked after a while, tugging at his apron. "What are we waiting for?"
Osiris looked down at Ria in surprise.
"We are waiting for the Pharaoh!", He explained, "He's coming right here!"
Ria nodded and let go of him again. At that moment the named came down the aisle. He looked exhausted. While he was still walking, he stopped when Osiris stood in his way.
"What ...?", He stopped in shock.
"Pharaoh Aknamkanon ...!", Osiris began, "Why did you completely destroy the village of Kul Elna and kill all the people?"
Aknamkanon said nothing; he was too paralyzed by the appearance of God.
"Answer my question!" Demanded Osiris, sounding angry.
"II ... used their souls for the ritual of the Millennium Items ...", the Pharaoh muttered, while his eyes darted past Osiris and back to him.
"He's looking for a way out!" Dany whispered suddenly, so that Ria and Osiris turned to her. "He would like to disappear!"
Her own words were so foreign to her, even though she said them herself. She just had a feeling.
Osiris turned back to the Pharaoh and said with ice-cold anger in his voice: "But you have forgotten two children! You have taken their parents from them!"
The god stepped aside so that Pharaoh could see Dany and Ria. His eyes widened a little when he recognized her. "Your!"he whispered, his eyes narrowing.
Ria whimpered softly; she clung to Dany, who just stared angrily up at the Pharaoh.
"Osiris, bring this rabble out of my palace! They only belong to the thieves who lived in this village!" Aknamkanon shouted angrily.
Ria was sniffing again, which the others could not hide.
"So you don't see your mistake?" It was more of a question than a statement. Osiris continued his words. "Since you slaughtered an entire village without further ado and thus stole their parents from these little ones, you will send your eldest daughter to me!
The Pharaoh said, stunned: "No! You can't do that to me!"
Osiris, while pointing at Dany and Ria, replied with scorn in his voice: "How could you do it to these two?"
Aknamkanon looked at the two; his gaze wandered over Ria, who was clinging to Dany weeping, to Dany herself, who was staring uncertainly back.
"I'm not going to give Amina to you!" He suddenly said in a firm voice while looking back at Osiris. "I'm not going to bring my daughter to you just like that! These children are none of my business!"
Osiris was getting angrier. "Then I'll get your daughter! You will atone for what you did!"
Aknamkanon just stared at the god in disbelief. "Please leave me my daughter!" He pleaded softly.
But Osiris turned away and waved his hand, whereupon he and the two children disappeared again.
Only a few hours after the two had visited the Pharaoh with Osiris, the Princess Amina was found dead in her room. Through this act the Pharaoh's infinite resentment against the gods arose.

The years passed; Danielle was now twelve; Ria eight. Both had settled in well in the temple over the three years. Again and again the gods came to them and looked after them. Dany was now in control of the powers she possessed; she could transform if she wanted to and even call out a ka. Even Ria had learned over the years to control the forces that slumbered within her.
But the day that dawned was to bring about another upheaval.
It was early in the morning when Dany sneaked out of the temple.
She did not notice that she was being watched by the gods; she cradled herself in safety and did not assume that the deities noticed her absence. But she was very wrong on this point. Osiris even sent Anubis after the girl if something happened that was not allowed to happen.
Danielle ran to Thebes; the hot sun burned in the sky; Ra kept an eye on her too. But Dany took no notice of it. She just didn't notice the jackal following her at a certain distance.
She arrived at the market; this was overcrowded. People pushed their way between the stalls, ignoring the little girl who suddenly began to steal from the rich. She skillfully took a bag full of coins from a plump man and disappeared into the crowd. The man realized too late that he had been stripped of all his money. He shouted all over the place to find the thief. But Dany had already disappeared into one of the nearby alleys and was sitting on the floor, counting her stolen goods.
Anubis was back in the temple; angrily reported to the remaining gods of Dany's deed. Some were angry. They asked Osiris to expel the sisters from the temple. But he answered them with only a slight sadness in his voice: "They are still children. I cannot just send them into the desert!"

Dany heard nothing of this conversation. She made her way back to the temple, but was stopped: a girl stood in her way.
"Hey!", The brown-haired girl called and pointed to the bag of money, "Why are you here? Here I am stealing!"
Dany took a few steps back. The fawn eyes of the person opposite took on more and more a purple hue.
"Apparently I first have to teach you whose territory is here!", The brown-haired hissed and suddenly shouted: "Nightmare! Come to me!"
Then something appeared behind her that took Dany's breath away. A skeleton wrapped in a tattered cloak, on a similar horse, appeared behind the brown-haired woman. A huge scythe, covered with blood, was barely held by a couple of finger bones.
"Go!" Shouted Dany's opposite and the horse started running; it made long leaps; came rapidly closer. The skeleton on it raised the bloody scythe and pointed it at the black-haired woman. Dany quickly considered what to do; but she was paralyzed.
