Chris kept rolling back and forth, each time lying in the middle of a stone. That Jamie was a madman! Just threw him out the door! Normally he wouldn't mind, but in this city full of demon hunters ?! What should he do if suddenly someone came out of his house and saw him stretching his wings with relish and curling up on the floor?
Azrani watched Chris from her window. She had argued with Jame that he could go back in, but Jame had won. Because he just clearly confirmed to her what was haunted in her mind: Chris was a demon, not very good at handling his powers, but he was a demon. It was bad enough that she hadn't killed him right away, she wanted him to sleep in the same house as her too! As a world-famous murderer of demons, she couldn't afford to do anything like that.Jame had even accused her of caring for Chris. Did she really? Was there more than there should be? Because of these thoughts, she angrily banged her head against the wall and Chris listened briefly when he heard this. After a few minutes, however, he looked away again, as there was dead silence again. Damn it! How could she even think of falling in love with him ?! She couldn't ... she'd killed so many other demons without batting an eyelid, dismantled them, and now she was about to fall in love with one of them? Crazy.
She quietly pulled the covers over her head and tried not to think about Chris, who was always lying out there and seemed to have fallen asleep. A short time later she was sitting at the window again and looking into the night, but for different reasons ...
He woke up to a few bells ringing nearby. "The demons are attacking, the demons!"someone shouted and jumped up. Suddenly he was wide awake. Had they noticed him after all?" All warriors to arms! ", came the voice again and some men with swords stormed out. But they didn't run in his direction, so it had to be about other demons ...
"Chris, get out of here! Now!" Azrani called from above. For a moment he saw her head sticking out of the window, then she was gone again. She worried about him that he might be accidentally killed while fighting the demons. After all, both sides had a reason to impale him:

and the demons because he wanted to help people.
Those were not very good conditions and it was better if he got to safety. Only he really had no intention of taking his girlfriend's advice. The door behind him was pushed open and Chris, who was standing in front of it, was thrown into the street. "Just be careful not to cut your head off!"Jame yelled at him, who stormed towards the city gates armed with a huge ax, just like all the other demon hunters. Azrani arrived a few seconds later." Come on, go. I don't want you to get hurt ... "Chris stared at her in confusion. This girl really made sudden changes of heart, first she wants to kill you and then she worries about you. You understand the women! What was the matter with her ...?
Just as she realized what she had said, she bit her tongue. Why did she do that now? He was a demon, she shouldn't care what happened to him! Azrani was totally confused and just walked past him.
Chris looked after her and then followed her. He wanted to help her in the fight, he didn't know why himself. Out of pity? Guilt? Friendship? Love? Whatever. In any case, there was no way he could leave her there alone. She was a seasoned demon hunter, but the situation seemed grave when so many men and women were called to arms ...She hadn't expected so many enemies after all. At most with one or two demons (demons are absolute loners), but not with twenty! What was that supposed to mean, was there a shortage of food and thus now mass attacks on small, insignificant villages? She pulled out her sword and faced the beasts. But even she had no chance if she had to compete against several of them at the same time. After all, she was hurt too! After a few minutes she could no longer avoid the attacks and one of the demons rammed his claws into her leg. She lost her balance and stumbled backwards. She tried to get up as fast as she could, but to no avail: her leg was obviously broken. The demon above her gave a toothless grin and raised his clawed hand and Azrani closed her eyes. But (as in any of my stories) she wasn't hit.
"You are really careless," said Jame, who stood in front of her and hit the demon with his ax who had wanted to kill her.Relieved, she fell into his arms and Chris, who was watching this from the side and was about to help her, stopped in the middle of the movement. Why was she hugging him? Had she still not realized that this was a nut? He just threw him out of the house! And now she stood there and threw herself on his neck ...
"Die, you little freak!" A demon yelled at him from behind and raised his sword. Chris made no move to evade. He did not care. Azrani could see the attack, but it was too late to help him now. She was way too far away and now had to watch Chris being impaled.
