Because I love you
her to failure. A red convertible crashed towards them and the driver did not make the slightest move to brake. The horror was written on Tyla's face, her body was paralyzed and everything told her that there was no longer any salvation, because after all, she had long since been exhausted in need of miracles. She screwed up her eyes tightly and breathed desperately:
"I'm sorry! I've tried so hard, I swear ... Chris, I love d- ...!"
She stopped, her breath was very shallow and heart seemed to have used up all its strength, it was beating as if it would stop at any moment. Carefully she opened first one eye, then the second and with a smile noticed that only a few centimeters from her muzzle an American license plate flashed towards her. It was unbelievable even for her, who finally knew what all this happiness was related to. Infinitely grateful for the renewed help from above, she crawled, in the truest sense of the word, from the street to the sidewalk. Her left forefoot was swollen and hurting like hell. It was incredible pain that could have let the water close in her eyes, but it didn't help, she had to do her duty, because she didn't want to disappoint all the hope she was placed in her any further. In addition to the numerous dangers to which she was exposed, the time came when she played against her. Leaving the rending pain completely out of sight, she ran on. Unshaken, she made her way through the people. Bags hit her on the head, feet kicked her in the ribs and despite everything she pushed herself forward. Again and again she scurried for seconds on the street to find Chris again, because she had lost sight of him again in all the excitement, but this time she was sure that he couldn't have come too far and so she gave up for the time being not the distorting fear in your inner direction.
Again she hit a heavy shopping bag and almost threw the little dog into the street. Her head hit the curb and she quickly noticed how her blood was running down her face. It dripped onto the gray stone floor and, drop by drop, formed a small puddle.
Actually everything in Tyla spoke for simply staying where it was and letting everything go its way, no longer defying fate, simply surrendering to it and thus finally having peace.Sadly, but primarily completely exhausted, she let her head drop to the floor and looked upside down at the opposite side of the street, when she saw a small shop selling chocolate and other sweets. There was a big box of chocolates in the shop window and it didn't take Tyla's memory long to realize that she knew these chocolates.
"Chris brought them to me once. I remember they were so incredibly delicious that I was almost all of them at once. Chris said at the time that if I like them that way, he'll bring them back to me next time, but That was a year ago. He couldn't have kept that, right? That wasn't the reason, was it? No, that couldn't be. "
With trembling legs she straightened up again, she bundled all her strength to be able to stay on her feet halfway, but even for that it was hardly enough. Searching, her gaze swept the street endlessly, scrutinizing the edges very carefully, while time ran incessantly against her.Tyla's panic was amplified many times over when a young girl next to her said to her friend:
"Oh, it's twelve o'clock, we must go now."
"What already 12 o'clock? But that's the time in which Chris ..."
Tyla didn't finish her thoughts, he was hers. Rather, she concentrated on finally finding him. The second hand was running and suddenly she saw a person detaching himself from the crowd and already put one foot on the street. Tyla's heart jumped when she realized it was Chris, he was holding one of the big boxes of chocolates in his hands and was walking across the street without looking, with a big grin on his face.
Now this was the moment Tyla had striven for so long to change it in her favor, but how?
Chris ran across the street and Tyla tried again to bark full-heartedly, she screamed his name, called out to him, warned him, but no one heard her, and certainly not the one who was screaming.Undeterred, he kept walking and Tyla almost passed out when she suddenly saw a car coming. Chris, who crossed the street about 20 meters to her right, did not see the car that was only a few meters away from Tyla, not coming.
It all happened incredibly fast, the young girl hardly had time to come to a clear thought, because everything happened in fractions of a second. Tyla saw how the young man behind the wheel of the car was absorbed in his phone call and paid no attention to the road. She looked from the car to Chris and from Chris to the car, her decision was already made. With the use of all her remaining strength, she ran out onto the street, right in front of the car. The man in the car was almost scared to death and went straight to the iron, but he had no chance. He tore the steering wheel around the little dog, which he had seen way too late somehow to avoid, but that was simply not possible for him. The tires screeched, people are screaming from all the noisy noises that reigned around them, she only noticed one thing, the falling to the floor of the box of chocolates that Chris had held in his hands. She was lying on the ground covered in blood, the car had hit her head-on and whirled her through the air. Despite the pain and the certainty of dying safely, she was happier than ever. Smiling, she looked over at Chris, whom a few passers-by had already pulled back onto the sidewalk. And luckily she couldn't see his eyes, otherwise his tears might have broken her heart, but like this, she was just overjoyed and breathed content:
"So now I managed to save you after all, now everything is as it should be again ..., finally I can sleep!"
Her eyes closed and suddenly everything around her was gone. Everything was black and it seemed to Tyla as if she was floating in a dark room and the further she flew, the lighter it got in this room. This continued until everything was wrapped in brilliant white, which gave tyla a sense of habit again. Now everything finally seemed to be won and full of anticipation, like anticipation, she listened to the courageous voice that had always rushed to her aid before."So now you're back here.", It echoed through the air and Tyla couldn't help but grin.
"You sure want your original shape again, right?"
"Oh yes, that would be great!", Tyla sighed hopefully and just a quick glance her wish was already fulfilled. Hardly grasping her luck, she felt down and looked at herself from all sides and ends, as far as she could. Radiant with joy, but almost eaten up by curiosity, she asked:
"I did it, didn't I? I saved him, didn't I? So does that mean I can go back?"
There was a brief moment of silence, but this was quickly followed by an answer:
"Well, you saved him, that's right. Chris lives as you wanted, but unfortunately I can't leave you behind."
"What? But why not?" She stammered without actually realizing what she had just been told.
"Tyla, you are dead!"
