Die Prophezeiung
To meet
The next day I accepted my first mission. It was quite simple and therefore done quickly. I should first be put to the test before I should be given more difficult assignments. It was fine with me, so I had more time for myself and my thoughts.
Today that feeling of being watched was gone.
Maybe Itachi had been watching me the whole time?
But why, hadn't it got better then?
Deep in thought, I sat down on a tree stump and mentally went through the past few weeks.
I always had this feeling that there was someone there who would protect me. Was it really him?
On the one hand, everything fit together. But did that match Itachi?
No!
Everything I had learned about him was supposed to trigger exactly the opposite in me. Not this feeling of wanting to trust him, wanting to be around him. He had wiped out his entire clan except for Sasuke. Why wasn't I scared of him like any normal person would !?
The kiss, too, had been strange. It had only been brief, but there had been something, something in him. He wasn't who I thought he was. There was more to him than that and that made me curious.
Very curious.
And sometimes curiosity was stronger than reason.
It was clear to me that if I really went to this meeting and someone saw us, it could all start over, only that Kakashi would then no longer be able to help me. The thought of being alone again scared me. Without Kakashi I would be lost.
But I had to see Itachi again, there was something.
It should be. It was like an inner need to see him again.
Was he really the shadow?
But then what had happened to Sasuke?
Was this really stronger?
I was unsure, I felt a pull from both of them that pulled me towards them.
Perhaps it was the same with them?
Was that why Sasuke left?
That evening, Kakashi went out of the house. He said he wanted to explore the village a little. I wasn't ungrateful to him for this idea. So I had enough time with Itachi. The very thought of him made me shudder. It was so wonderful to be able to smile again, but it was scary myself. It was going too fast, way too fast. But as soon as he was there, everything fell to me, those few minutes in which I had really noticed him had been weird. So familiar, so different.
"There you go, Runa," he said friendly and smiled slightly. I stopped and looked at him. Outwardly, his image coincided with his feelings.
"Amazed that I can be different too?" He asked, amused. I just nodded and sat down a certain distance from him. He raised an eyebrow and sat down next to me.
"So?" I asked carefully as the silence slowly made me uncomfortable. Maybe that was a lie, I just wanted to hear his wonderful voice, it seemed to calm me down.He gave a short laugh and turned his face to me. I also turned around and let his eyes captivate me.
"Did you never notice? I was always with you, except this one night. I always took care of you and him when you were here. A day has never passed when I was not there just to be with you to see, "he began softly.
What was that supposed to be here? A love confession?
"Yes, I always had the feeling that I was being watched," I answer quietly.
A smile crept onto his wonderful lips.
"You see. I just don't know. When you came near me, I felt it. I wanted to see you, hear your voice ... touch you," his voice grew lower and lower and his gaze seemed to move further and further away.
"But as long as he was here it wasn't possible, I just couldn't get any closer to you. As much as I wanted to be with you, it hurt me too. Your proximity was wonderful and terrible at the same time," he confessed to me.
"What if it wasn't him? Was it myself?" I whispered.
Whatever we whispered. I had the feeling myself that our words should never really have been spoken. Through my voice, his gaze suddenly intensified again and he was back here with his thoughts.
"I don't know. I just know that since I was the night he left you, it's easier for me to be with you."
More and more I got the feeling that Itachi was the one I was looking for, not his brother. But what was it then with Sasuke? Why had leaving it caused such great damage?
"But what is it what you want? Why are you telling me everything? Why ..." I swallowed to really pronounce the words, "why did you kiss me yesterday, Itachi?"
His gaze grew warm, and so did my heart. Feelings spoke out of his gaze that I would not have believed the Uchiha to be.
That look was my answer. It didn't take words to describe what he felt.
"Do you feel it too, Runa?" He asked me demanding.
What should I answer him?
That he was probably my counterpart?
That our fates were connected?
That I was drawn to him too?
But was this really more?
I did not know it.
"I ... I don't know. There's this urge to want to be around you, to want to hear you ... you ... to feel you," I began slowly.
He grins contentedly.
"That's enough for me to start with," he said softly and kissed my forehead and was gone.
"Tomorrow at the same time?" I heard his voice whisper softly.
"Yes," I breathed.
What was that between him and me ?!
