Chapter 2

How it all came about he did not know and wanted to or could not ask. He was sitting in a room. Apparently in the basement, because there was a small window just below the ceiling through which some light came. The room was bare. The walls were gray, a frayed mattress lay on the floor on which he was supposed to sleep. He did not wake up on her, but in one of the corners, next to him was a sink and a small bucket, which was supposed to serve as a toilet. Where in the world was he? He kept looking around. Was he just dreaming? A quick pinch showed him that he wasn't sleeping. He looked down at himself. He was wearing white boxer shorts and the matching shirt. Was he captured? But by whom? Who would have had a reason to? He didn't understand. He had just been lying in his bed and in the next moment, he had only closed his eyes briefly, he was here. No bars on the window. So no prison? Or was it assumed that he couldn't get up there? He got up slowly. His legs were shaking and he couldn't keep his hands under control either. When he was completely upright he looked around the room again. Everything seemed smaller now, but not a bit more pleasant. He walked slowly over to the door and put his shaky hand on the door handle. He tugged at her, but the door didn't move a bit. Even with pressure he couldn't get any further and so he began to hammer and kick on the door, which was made of steel. He tried to scream, preferably for help. But when he opened his mouth he couldn't get a sound and now it occurred to him that swallowing was not very pleasant. Carefully he felt along his neck but could not find the source.

Not far away in the same corridor was another room. This was also completely gray. Unlike in the room in front of it, there was neither a sink nor a bucket to relieve yourself. Only an old mattress was on the floor and a white figure was sleeping on it. Strange dark spots adorned his arms and his cheekbones flashed through the pale skin. Some rib bones could also be seen, the lips turned slightly bluish and unnatural reddening lay under the closed eyelids. The eyes were closed and the noises of breathing could even be heard in the corridors if the door had been open. But here, too, a heavy steel door closed the room and a little light penetrated the room through the small window under the ceiling. After a few minutes, the sickly white figure seemed to wake up and sweat ran down his forehead. His hands were trembling when he tried to wipe away some sweat and opening his eyes was obviously difficult. He couldn't say what he had and he didn't know where he was either. With a tired look he looked around the room and tried to sit up a bit after a moment's hesitation. He felt a sharp pain in his back and made a jerky face. He had to grit his teeth to keep from screaming out loud. Where was he? When he had calmed down somewhat and the pain was slowly becoming bearable, he looked around the room again. He couldn't remember having been here before and the day before he was completely different. Just now he was sitting on a cozy rock in hell and watching Zarbon and Raditz as they clapped their skulls in and now he was here. How was that possible? He didn't want to think about getting up. His limbs felt strangely numb and his skull throbbed as if it was being hit with a hammer. Groaning softly, he lay down again and closed his eyes. Maybe it was just a nightmare?

"Experiment one and two were successful, master. How should we continue?" The dark figure, which stood in front of a huge screen and observed the two guinea pigs, briefly raised his hand so that the other was silent. "We'll wait a little longer, then we can start with phase two. The two of them should be aware of the situation first." He grinned briefly and turned to the other. "The two should suffer after all! For all that they have done to the people of the universe!" The figure walked along the dark room, only the red eyes of the person could be seen. A large door at the far end of the room opened. "It's time we got the third one," he announced shortly before he closed the door behind him. The guard bowed briefly and looked at the screens. He didn't know either of them and, to be honest, he never wanted to. What he heard from his master was enough for him to bring both of them here. He knew one of them had a child by now, but he didn't give a damn. The other was alone. At least nothing else was known of him. The guard also withdrew from the room and went to fetch the third one his master had requested. He went by the name Bardock. Unlike the other two, however, this one should not be physically tortured, but psychologically. How his master was going to do that, the guards didn't know and didn't even want to imagine it. He just did the dirty work, after all, and brought the victims here.
